India, it has been aptly said lives in villages. With the rural economy of India, primarily depending on agriculture, establishing an alternative income opportunity is the need of the day. The ever intriguing and fascinating countryside of India puts forward an obvious solution in the form of ‘Rural Tourism’. The motive of this Thesis topic was to retain the character of villages in India and this led to the concept of ‘Holiday Village’ as a design solution.
